5 Receive Awards For Beautification

CAPE MAY - The county Chamber of Commerce honored five county sites with beautification awards at its annual installation dinner at the Golden Eagle Motor Inn last Wednesday. Awards went to: Robert Blumenstein, manager. Harbor Square Associates, new mall in the Stone Harbor business

district, new business construction category Dick Webber. South Jersey Marina. Route 109, Cape May, business renovation category. Edward J. Campbell, Lower Township schools superintendent, elementary school administration building cited in the civic, non-profit category.

A special award was presented in the Business Renovation Category to the Golden Inn of Avalon for its new Conference Center addition. In the Civic, Non Profit Area, a special award was given to Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital for its new "East Wing extensive renovations of existing buildings. The project, which took nearly three years to complete, was not eligible for annual recognition awards since it was not started and completed in one year period. Chamber Installs Officers, Directors

CAPE MAY - The county Chamber of Commerce installed its 1985-86 officers and directors last Wednesday at the Golden Eagle Motor Inn. Retired Cape May County Judge Nathan Staller served as installing officer for the evenings' program. Richard Giuliano, owner of Giuliano Marine in Burleigh, was installed for a second year as president. Patricia Nagel, a partner in Office Solutions, a North Wildwood Secretarial Service business, was installed as first vice president. Dane Wells, owner and

innkeeper with his wife of the Queen Victoria Guest House in Cape May, was installed as second vice president. Installed as secretary was Carl Owen, partner in the WCMC and WNBR Radio Station in Wildwood. Robert Smith, president. Ocean City Home Savings and Loan Association, was installed as treasurer. Newly elected and reelected directors installed for a new term are: Ted Roman, manager. Sears Store, Cape May Court House; Terry Brown, director, Civic Affair. Boyer Named Top Member CAPE MAY - Larry E. Boyer was named the county Chamber of Commerce's "member of the year" at its annual installation dinner last Wednesday. Boyer, publisher of the Gazette-Leader in North Wildwood, was cited for his efforts as chairman of the chamber's Tourism and Public Affairs Committee. That group spearheaded the successful effort to save a local welcome and information center at the Seaville Information Center at Milepost No. 18 on the Garden State Parkaway. The committee also ' worked on celebration of the county's first National ' Tourism Week Celebration, reorganized advertising services, and helped the chamber quality for its first state tourism grant
