Banjo , Story Concert
COURT HOUSE - A free banjo-playing, story-telling concert by Ed Stivender, from Philadelphia, who is known all over the country, will be held at the County Library 7:30 p.m tomorrow. Admission is free. The concert has been made possible by a grant for the Cape May County Cultural and Heritage Commission and the Coun- i ty Library. Stivender has toured the Eastern United States and i Canada since 1975 perform ing his one-man shows at i theatres, colleges, folk i festivals, coffeehouses. i schools and Off-Broadway. i
HIS PREVIOUS theatre credits include virtually every Shakespearean fool, including Puck on the stage of the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. Stivender has been a featured storyteller at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough. Tenn. and he has appeared in the national television coverage of the festival on NBC's Today. This storyteller brings the traditions of American folklore to life in a montage of story, song, and participatory theatre, as he accompanies himself on harmonica and banjo.
