' COURT HOUSE - Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, is proud of its history of regular expansion of facilities and services to meet the needs of the community. Its chronology follows: 1941 — Need for a local hospital discussed. Fund drive support boosted when Burdette Tomlin, a successful self-made Cape May County businessman, contributes $25,000 on condition that it be matched by area citizens. Their generosity for exceeds this amount bus construction is delayed by World War II. 1950 — Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital is completed and opens its doors and 65 beds. 56 employes.

Ancillary service areas expanded and modernized Employes new total 407. 1980 — BUILDING and renovation program expands and improves pediatric, maternity, laboratory, and dietary departments. Additional parking and cafeteria space added to accommodate increased number of employes. 1984 — East Wing opens, bringing bed size to 240. CAT scanner, critical care unit, operating room suite, and materials management complex are special features. Renovation of all outdated facilities completed with ancillary service areas also expanded Finishes Basic WOODBINE — Pvt.. Robert Davis Jr., son of Robert and Catherine Davis of 219 Adam Ave. He is a 1985 graduate of Millville Senior High School.
