Educational Fund Makes 8 Grants

COURT HOUSE - The Cape Educational Fund made grant awards to eight county educators at its annual luncheon, held recently at the Two Mile Inn. Ocean Drive adjacent to Wildwood Crest. The Cape Educational Fund is a communitybased. non-profit organization to promote quality education in Cape MayCounty schools. ITS TWO principal purposes are: to secure and distribute funds from individuals, corporations, and foundations for the benefit of students, and to

re-establish ties between the community and the 1 schools. Singled out for special f recognition at the luncheon 5 were Dana Kull, Avalon Honda, for sponsoring a $500 mini-grant, and Barbara Tomalino. Paramount Air Service, who sponsored the luncheon. Grant awards were made to the following: ANNE-MARIE McVEY. Glenwood Avenue Elementary School. Wildwood. ' Implementation of Critical Thinking skills". Grades K-6-S393 .00. Kay Delia Barca, Ocean City High School. "Telecommunications". Grades 11 & 12-$484.05. Karen Seddon. Woodbine Elementary School. "A Classic A Day Keeps Mediocrity Away II". Grades 7 and 8-S490.05. Gina Scancella. Special Services. "Outdoor Experimental Education". Ages 12-21 $500 Jane Gaskill/Peg Armstrong. Special Services. "School Classrooms and Field Trips to Senior Citizens' Residences' . $476.

For Oldsters CAPE MAY - A Senior Citizen Exercise Class designed specifically for senior citizens (55 years and older) to enhance mobility and flexibility is being offered by the city. The class will be taught by Minette Rao Southard and take place 11-noon Monday. Wednesday and Friday at the Franklin Street Civic Center.
