Halloween Parade In Wildwood Friday
WILDWOOD - The third annual Halloween Parade and Fun Fair will be held Friday evening. Oct. 25. Open to everyone in the Halloween spirit, the evening features a parade with marching bands, floats, dance troupes, antique cars and trolleys The ma jor attractions in the parade, however, are the many adults and children who dress up in costumes and compete for trophieg and prizes. Registration for all costumed entrants, both children and adults, will occur at 5 p.m. at the Wildwood Recreation Center on Rio Grande Avenue. The parade line-up is at 5:15, with the parade beginning at 8 p.m. The parade route is as -) follows: traveling north up D Pacific Avenue to Wildwood Avenue, going east to Atlantic Avenue, going south on Atlantic Avenue to Cedar Avenue, where the parade will disband, with entrants joining the Fun Fair held at the Cedar Avenue boardwalk from 7-10 p.m. Everyone is invited to the Fun Fair, run by local service organizations, which has game and food booths, with games such as pie throwing, goldfish bowls, a coin toss, and candy wheels There will also be lots of Halloween-style {goodies. The Dracula Castle will be open, courtesy of the Nickels family, for the LJ brave of fyeart. It will be staffed by the Wildwood Crest Fire Department. . Firehouse Breakfast ' VILLAS — Breakfast J featuring pancakes, sausage, eggs, and bacon and fried potatoes will be served at the Villas Firehouse. Bayshore and Georgia Roads, on Sunday, from 7 a m to 1 p.m Tickets are S3 for adults, and SI .75 for children 12 and under 2 Artists To Exhibit CAPE MAY — A reception will be held 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the National Associates building on Bank Street to open an exhibit of the paintings of Patty Scheper and Penny Beck. The paintings will be on display through the month of November. Flea Market VENTN'OR - The Ventnor Chamber of Commerce and the March of Dimes will sponsor a flea marketantique and craft show 8 a.m. -4 p.m Sunday Nov. 3 on the parking lot the Starn's ShopRite Willington Avenue. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Ventnor Chamber of Commerce and the March of Dimes
The dollar entry fee to get in will be donated to the Fire Department The costume categories to be judged are: most scary, most creative, and the funniest. In the float and costume division, the categories to be judged are: best civic group, best commercial group, and best family group. A panel of six judges to be located at the Wildwood High School at Baker and Pacific avenues, will per form the judging. The only requirement of the event is that you must march in the parade to be judged. Trophies for the first, second and third place winners in each category will be awarded at the Fun Fair at 9:30 p.m. Area merchants are donating prizes to be given to children.
