Orientation For Jobless

VINELAND - Cumberland County College will be conducting a free Unemployed Persons Program orientation session in Lecture Hall II next Tuesday at 2 p.m The State Department of Higher Education passed a resolution last January that directed colleges to offer free courses to out-of-work citizens, according to Joseph Hibbs, CCC assistant dean of students. Under the guidelines, unemployed persons or those who have been working for at least two years and have been laid off may be eligible for the program. Rate Drops . 'Quiet Time' Brochure In Avalon AVALON — The borough Chamber of Commerce has published its 1985/1986 fall /winter/spring guide of businesses, services, and organizations in Avalon. In addition to the 1 l"xl7" booklet distributed through the retail establishments, there is also a smaller "mailing" size. These will be available to the real estate offices and any other establishment involved in mailings. The Avalon Home and Land Owner's Association will be enclosing one with its monthly newsletter. AVALON IS no longer the "dead" community in the winter that it once was. says Kathy Kurian . member of the "Quiet Season" committee. There are over one hundred businesses operating during the "Quiet Season" and nine restaurants/take outs open The brochure also lists 29 organizations and committees.
