IH RING TIIK (last six years, a number of organizations from throughout the township, including the local school system, township government. and various social and political clubs have had their banquets and cocktail parties at Neil's Steak and Oyster House in Wildwood and many of us have had the pleasure of being served by bartenders Kilty Kodden and Stef Kostuchik. Both Billy and Stef began working for Neil's in 1979. live in North Wildwood. and married their brides this year. Billy married Carolyn Kilpatrick Oct. 19 at St. Ann's Church in Wildwood before a crowd of 200 invited relatives and friends.
Roth the bride's and groom's parents were in the wedding party. After- \ wards, everyone gathered at the Captain's Table in Wildwood Crest for an elaborate reception. Stef married Tela Gavin May 18. also at St. Ann's. They met when Tela began working for Neil's as a waitress in 1983. Teta's mother. Pat Gavin, has also been employed there as a waitress for a number of years. We wish our friend Dot Krnwn of Court House a belated "Happy Birthday!" She is the assistant township clerk. TIIK MIIHH.K Township Chamber of Commerce will hold a combined board of directors and general membership meeting in the public meeting room at the County Library Building in Court House 7:30 p.m. Nov 4 Lower Township Police Sgt. John Maher was the guest speaker at the Court Hosuc Kiwanis Club dinner/meeting Oct 17. He informed the group of the facts regarding the local question on the ballot Nov. 5 which asks township residents to place the members of the local police department into the Police and Fireman's Retirement System. Middle Township Patrolman Jack Kerwin. the police "department's P.B.A. Local 59 representative. accompanied Maher. KORIIODGKS. president of the Court House Kiwanis Club, awarded Maher the club's "Citizenship Certificate." which is still going strong. Key Club International joined this campaign through an internationalscale project with Quaker Inc. By distributing collection boxes for wrappers from Quaker Granola and Dipps bars and by saving the wrappers. Key Club will be able to raise up to $500,000. Quaker gave the Key Club' International $450,000 for distributing the collection boxes, and will contribute further donations for wrappers collected. Registration will take place at 12 Seclud ed Lane in Rio Grande at 8:30 a.m. The two top money collectors will each receive a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. Participants collecting $25 or more in pledges will receive a T-shirt while those collecting $75 or more will receive both a T-shirt and a tote bag Refreshments will be provided Mayor Mike Voll and his wife Susan are the cochairpersons For further information or to obtain a sponsor form contact Kathv Meers in Township Hall at 465-5107 Proceeds will go to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital THE MIDDLE Township Traffic Committee is hosting a Traffic Impact Statement Seminar at the Career Center in the Crest Haven Complex 10 a.m. -4 p.m. Nov 20 Mayor Voll will invite representation from the local planning board, zoning boards, and traffic safety committees of each municipality in the county The seminar will be conducted by licensed professional engineers The purpose of the seminar is to help zoning and planning boards in ad
dition to traffic safety committees. R will provide them with a tool that can be used in arriving at decisions about how a given development will affect a local traffic situation. The local traffic committee is chaired by Robert Johnson and its advisor is John McCarthy, the New Jersey Department of Transportation Resident Engineer for Cape MayCounty . A DIAL HOUSING ceremony for 1980 and 1984 1.000 G.P.M. pumpers was held at the Green Creek Volunteer Fire Co. Oct. 12. A large crowd attended the Open House and enjoyed the refreshments A number of trophies were given out to various fire companies from Cape May. Cumberland, and Atlantic counties which entered vehicles in a parade in conjunction with this event. About 50 pieces of equipment were in the \ procession The celebration was held as a "thank you" to the businesses and community residents for their continued support through the years of the Green Creek Fire Co. THE HOUSING committee's chairman is Reynold Palermo. Its members are Dick Rarnett. Bill Frame. Rich Gilbert. Mike Frame. Matt Gilbert. Jim Krusl. Bob Cochran. A n d y ltansen. Rod Downs.
