The Middle Township High School Band Boosters will be selling cases of oranges and grape fruit from Florida to raise money for its December trip to San Diego. Luther and Marie Hearon of Goshen hosted a dinner j>arty at the Neptune Inn in Vineland Oct. 2 in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary and Mr. Hearon's 75th birthday. About 35 family members and close friends attended the party. We wish the Hearons a belated "Happy Anniversary" and Mr. Hearon a belated "Happy Birthday!" Rob Dean. the new New Jersey District Key Club treasurer by the District Board at the organization's Sixth Annual Leadership Training Conference at Great .Adventure Oct. 13. His duties will include overseeing the collection of district club dues, maintaining the financial records for the district, and paying all district debts incurred. He is the son of Richard and Jane Dean of Avalon. OVER 45 MTHS KeyClub members attended ^this conference, which was ^joth educational and entertaining. Its function was to help inform club officers and members about their responsibilities as KeyClubbers., After a general session and different workshops for club presidents, vicepresidents. secretaries, treasurers, and bulleting editors, the 2.000 Key Clubbers in attendance from around the state were free to enjoy the attractions at the park. ,/ Ed Webb.^International Key Club Trustee and MTHS Key Club member, brought greetings to those in attendance from KeyClub International. THE HIGH School | Marching Band, under the direction of Richard P. I.udwig, came away from the Vineland Competition at Gittone Stadium Oct. 6 with three trophies. The Panthers beat Hammonton in the Group II Division 72.4 to 68.4. It was the first time that the MTHS Band had ever beaten Hammon ton in a field show The Panthers won the Group II Divisional Trophy in addition to the Best Music and Grand Championship Trophies. The other bands in the competition were Group One bands Absegami. Glassboro. Bridgeton. and Oakcrest; .and Group Three's Millville and Toms River. Tribute Slated CAPE MAY - Harry Snyder Post 193 of the American Legion will sponsor Veterans Day ceremonies that will begin Monday. Nov. 11. at 11 a.m. at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument at Columbia Avenue and Gurney Street here. All residents of the Cape May area are invited to attend. There will be a firing squad, bugler, and color guard from the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center taking part in the observance Captain J. C. Uithol. « commanding officer. Coast Guard Training Center will be the guest speaker. All of the veterans' organizations in the area are invited to present wreaths to be placed on the monument. Honor guards representing all organizations are urged to attend. Robinson Is A Recruiter MARMORA - Marine Staff Sgt. Richard L. Robinson, son of Claudia Robinson of 648 Statecoach Rd.. here, was graduated from Recruiter's School. During the seven-week course at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. Robinson was prepared for duty recruiting young men and women for service with the Marine Corps. He also . studied public speaking, advertising. community relation^ and personal interviewing techniques. A 1974 graduate of Absegami High School.
