She's Rosalie Riddle - another very gracious person who baked one of her delicious cakes to be brought over to the Star of the Sea Parish Hall on the evening of the car drawing. Anna Purgatorio also brought cakes. She is always ready to help wherever needed. It was very special and this year even more so. Philadelphia's Hallahan Catholic Girls High School Alumnae Association held its annual Communion Brunch Oct. 20 with mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral followed bybrunch at the Bellevue Stratford Hotel. Five Alumnae members were honored with the Distinguished Service Award. The 200-member South Jersey Chapter is very active and one of its members, Catherine McGill. was one of the recipients of this very important award. For all of those who know Catherine McGill they will remember how diligently she keeps her committee going to the various nursing homes, - bringing litle gifts and goodies at Christmas, singing carols, and even asking all the shut-ins just what they would like to have. Somehow Catherine gets as many requests as she can granted and so many are then so very happy for all the good works that she and —J her fellow volunteers produce.

TUESDAY. NOV. 19. is the date at approximately 12:30 p.m. for the dessert card party sponsored by the Cape May Women's Republican Club. Place is the "Dugout" in the basement of Star of the Sea Catholic Church. If you're playing cards do bring your own and for those who do not have an interest in cards there'll be Bingo. For your table reservation call Dolly Stango in advance at 884-4770. Here's another date to keep in mind: a shopping trip to the Echelon Mall Wednesday. Dec. 4. Bus leaves Cape May Acme lot 8:15 a.m. with additional pickup 8:30 a.m. at the Lutheran Church on Pittsburgh Avenue in Cape May. Departure time from the mall is 4 p.m. and I'm told it takes aoout one and one-half hours to get home, so figure about 5:30 p.m. Again, reservations are needed with your check in advance. Call Dolly Stango at 884-4770 to be sure you're on. This is also another Cape May Women's Republican Club venture. INTERESTED in ceramics? Cape May County Art League, located in the Carriage House on the Physick Estate, is offering a course 7-10 Wednesday evenings starting this evening. The class is designed for anyone desiring to develop creative talent through working with clay. Handbuilding and wheelthrowing will both be covered in depth. Call 884-8628.
