Church in Seaville Marks 129 Years

SEAVILLE - Several former pastors returned to the Seaville United Methodist Church for a Sunday afternoon service Oct. 20 in observance of its 129 anniversary. The anniversary preacher was the Rev. Paul M. Corson. His sermon was titled "Coming Home". He is a member of the Corson family which has played an important role in the early history of the church A bronze plaque was placed in the Seaville church at a special service Dec. 2. 1984. The plaque commemorates six Corson ministers whose Christian service spanned a century Miriam Leigh Corson. 103. unveiled the plaque as family members participated in that service. Though none of the familyhas served this church as pastor, members roots in

this congregation, all being descendants of Peter and John Corson, early Cape May County settlers. A 12-PAGE booklet highlighting that service, including pictures and thumbnails sketches of the six ministers of the Corson family who maintained a century of Christian service. was available at the anniversary service.
