Dining & Entertainment ' ^ ^ ' By Libby Demp Forrest | ^ ( IT'S TIME TO COZY, and from time to time, to turn up the heat when an evening chill forces the issue. Call us a spend thrift if you will, but we've met a few recent mornings with a stiff walk downstairs to turn up the thermostat. Guess there will be more of those walks coming along on a more frequent basis now that November is here. The year's clock is slowly and inexorably running down. The holidays approach and for many people, November and December are times of anticipation. We met someone the other day who had finished her Christmas shopping and was getting ready to wrap presents. What could we say, but to gulp and then, slink off into the sunset. Monday marks Veteran's Day. It commemorates the signing of the Armistice in 1918 that ended World War I... When we were growing up Veteran's Day was called Armistice Day. If you're as young as we are, you'll remember that. THE LANDSCAPK is getting drab — but the hardy mums are showing their colors These will cheer the November landscape and pick up an afternoon walk. The trees and bushes will soon be clean as a whistle — not a leaf left on them. But November sunsets can be gorgeous, albeit brief. Look for them. While you're out and about, you might want to stop at one of these good eating places for an enjoyable time: POTBELLY'S. You're going to love eating at Potbelly's where the atmosphere, food and personal touches give this restaurant a really special quality. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., lunch from 12 to 12. and dinner from 4:30 to 8:30. (Closed for Monday F" night dinners). Lunch specials are affordable and delicious — i.e. the Soup and Salad Bar is a mere $3.25; L and there are other easy-on-the-pocketbook choices for all tastes. Dinner specials are a low $7.95, including salad bar and dessert. The Beef Burgundy is especially recom- & mended Potbelly's is located on Route 47. just west of the Garden State Parkway, in Rio Grande. VEGAS DINKK. You'll never run out of good things to eat at the Vegas Diner where the long hours (7:30 am. to 9:30 p.m. seven days a week), offer an array of tasty food throughout the day and evening. ^ Delicious home cooked food is prepared to your order ; and specific request. We're especially fond of fresh broil- % ed seafood at the Vegas, a specialty of the house. The | breads and pastries are fresh baked on the premises and always a welcome feature. Early Bird specials are served M 3 to 5:30 p.m. and cost a mere $6.50. The pleasant at- % mosphere makes for a nice little haven for diners during U chilly autumn evenings. BKLLEVCE TAVERN. For eighty years, the Bellevue «■. Tavern has l>een a landmark in Cape May Court House Located at 7 S. Main Street, it still serves the thick tavern | sandwiches that established its' reputation | Lunch is served 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The evening hours are | 6 to 11 p.m There is always a fine selection of package j goods, wines, liquors and beers from around the world.
