The Dec. l performance, co-sponsored by the Burdette Tomlin Hospital Auxiliary, will feature the Fairmount Brass -Quartet at Community Hall at 8 p.m. The group, which recently won first prize in a nationwide ragtime Competition and has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra. will play a variety of jazz, classical and Christmas selections. GRANDE - The I Cape May County Unit of the American Cancer Society had an awards meeting recently in honor of the volunteers who served in the record-breaking fiscal year 1985 Special guests included: Peter P. Porcelli. income development director for the N.J. Division of the American Cancer Society: Jan Ross and Pam Jones, co-chairpersons of the Champagne Fling (an event that brought in $36,000 to the local unit) ; Vi and Nick Trofa; Howard Green of WMGM-TV 40; Jane Stark, station manager of WMGM-TV 40; Lois Kilpatrick and James S. Kilpatrick Jr.. of the board of freeholders OVER SEVENTY-FIVE awards were given for service this year Of special notice was a plaque presented to Sheriff James Plousis and his wife, Kathy. for co-chairing the past record-setting Crusade year Also honored with a plaque was Dr Robert G. Beit man. president -elect for 1984-85. professional education chairman, volunteer on public education committee. a speaker on the speakers' bureau and writer of the Health Watch" column in the Herald neruill
THIS PAST month the executive director of the Cape May County Unit received a state award. Helen M. Pulaski was named MVP (Most Valuable Person) for South Jersey This award is given to only two individuals each year and this is the second time the award was given to Mrs Pulaski, the first being in 1982 when the N.J. division presented only one award for the whole slate.
