Yule Celebration To Aid Red Cross
STONE HARBOR - "An American Christmas", a celebration of life in a small town will take place in Stone Harbor/ Avalon area as' a benefit for the American Red Cross. Cape May County Chapter « A highlight of the celebration is a Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce sponsored trip for two to Williamsburg to be won for the following Christmas season. The celebration will commence Dec. 9 with the tree lighting at Stone Harbor Borough Hall 7 p.m. THE CELEBRATION will be highlighted with special Christmas wreaths, a designer boutique, two fashion shows, a concert by the U.S. Coast Guard, an island house tour, and an optional black tie dinner dance. The house tour will feature American homes by the sea at Christmas time. These contemporary homes will highlight modern design and some will be the product of area decorators. The first American Christmas trip to be raffled off will be at Williamsburg and participating mer chants will have the tickets available in their shops. FOLLOWING the events in Stone Harbor, the winning ticket will be chosen, at a time to be announced. Winners will be feted for two nights and three days at the Williamsburg Inn. with a side trip to Christina Campbell's tavern for dinner. A deluxe house tour of the exquisite colonial
homes festooned with live greenery sparked with lemons, lady apples, laurel, pineapples, and magnolia leaves, will be available as well as side trips to William and Mary College, the Abbey Rockefeller museum, and the nearby southern plantations. ALL PROCEEDS from the sale of the tickets will benefit the Red Cross. Cape May County Chapter Merchants will feature special events such as weaving and Williamsburg decorations in their shops during this period Garden Meet AVALON - The Garden Club will meet 10 a.m.. Nov. 18. in the Avalon Room at the Borough Hall Karen Andrus will be the speaker, and her topic will be "Victorian Flowers".
