AVALON — The borough 1 chamber of commerce invites everyone to celebrate I colonial times in a "Salute I to the American Red I Cross". Merchants and > shoppers are asked to show their appreciation for the disaster aid provided during Hurricane Gloria. Four days in December (,12, 13. 14. 15) will highlight Williamsburg. Retail merchants formed a committee to plan events 1 that will be held over these four days. Scheduled events will be demonstrated or exhibited throughout the business district. THESE EVENTS include I a colonial wreath demonstration at Gallagher's, a colonial tree trim at the Princeton, the I ] art of candlemaking and I showing of films at Sullivan's. Others will have window | decorations of a colonial nature. Hoy's will host a "come fly your kite with us". There will be an exhibit of pharmacautical jars, morI tars and pastels from ages | past at Keen's. BREAKFAST IN bed I boxed lunches can be I ordered through Candlelight and Caviar The Red Geranium will host in open house with Hors d'oeuvres and sweets for the browsers and house tourers. 1 A cocktail party will take i place after the House Tour I (Stone Harbor - Avalon > I (Sunday 1-5) at Whalon's, who will be asked to design a colonial room. Others are invited to participate in this four-day extravanganza. Donnelly's and Brady's are being asked to tailor their menus to items with a colonial flavor. Sunday might be started with brunch at the Whitebrier or breakfast in bed or a boxed lunch from Candlelight and Caviar. BANKS WILL display col- . onial exhibits during lobby | hours.
