Candlelight Tours Shed k Yule Glow 4^ j

CAPE MAY - The high point of Cape May's holiday season is the 12th annual Christmas Candlelight House Tour, scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday. December 28. Sponsored by the MidAtlantic Center for the Arts (MAC), this gala event features' a self-guided tour of more than a dozen homes and churches especially decorated for , the holiday season. In order to help tourgoers get from one house to another. MAC's heated trolley-bus will run a continuous transit loop throughout the course of the tour. AMONG TIIK highlights of this year's tour are: The Physick Estate. Cape May's Victorian house museum, fully decked out in its historic Christmas trappings. In addition to a splendid tree, laden with period ornaments. every mantle, chandelier, nook and crany of the Physic House is draped with the boughs and holly so beloved by the Victorians. Cape May's Sea House, fabled for having more Christmas trees than any other home in the area. With at least one tree in every room (including the bathrooms), the Sea House offers more than 25 Christmas trees, each with its own unique set of decorations TIIK I.ORRIKS of 'Con gress Hall. Cape May's grandest hotel from the Victorian period For the first time in memory, these stately public rooms will be fully decorated for the Christmas season and opened to the public. These charming edi- I ble edifices, which sport decorations as elaborate as Cape May's own architectural gingerbread, are on display for several weeks preceding the Tour at the Cape May County Art | League (in the Carriage House of the Physick Estate) The night of the Candlelight Tour, ticketholders have the honor of selecting the winning entries. with the results to be announced at the Tour's conclusion. CHRISTMAS music by the Williamsport Singers. This noted 22-member chorus, hailing from Williamsport. PA. will present a formal concert of Christmas favorites at 3 o'clock the afternoon of the tour at the Cape Island Baptist Church (Columbia Avenue & Gurney Street. That evening, during the Candlelight Tour, the Williamsport Singers will roam the town, singing carols for Tour-goers at each house.
