Upon reaching the estate, the group will first tour the grounds, which abound with life-size figurines and circus animals as well as brightlylit displays THEN LAMBERT, as gracious host, will lead each group through the main house, noted for its indoor pool room, Japanese master bathroom, and old master painting. At the conclusion of the tour, he will offer tour-goers seasonal refreshments. Each excursion departs from the Physic Estate, 1048 Washington St.. in Cape May, at 7:30 p.m. Reservations for these excursions, are a must, and may be made by calling the MAC office at 884-5404.
Entries from ail age bakers are welcome. In 1984, more than a dozen gingerbread houses were displayed, and it is hoped that a little "village" of houses, churches, castles, carousels, shops, and reproductions in miniature of actual Cape May buildings can be created to display at the Art League during December. THE CONTEST is open , to any one who would like to try making a gingerbread structure. The rules are simple, the buildings must be made entirely of gingerbread (though nongingerbread structural < supports are permitted if . they are not visible), and ' only edible materials may 1 be used for decoration. 1 They must be on a firm i base, preferably wooden, not larger than 3x3 feet, and the base must be covered either with gingerbread or other edible materials. No non-edible materials may be visible. . ENTRIES MUST be received at the Art League, in the Carriage House on the Physick Estate, 1050 Washington St., between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13. The name, address and telephone number of the maker should be included on a 3 x 5 card as well as whether the house is to be entered in the junior division (bakers through high school) or senior division. Houses should be constructed so as to remain on display until Saturday night, Dec. 28, when the judging for the contest will take place by popular vote of those attending the an nual Christmas Candlelight House Tour. The houses may be taken home at the conclusion of the party Dec. 28 or may be picked up on Sunday, Dec. 29. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m Houses not claimed by Dec 30 will be donated to the birds!
