CAPE MAY — A special opportunity to see seven of Cape May's well-known bed-and-breakfast inns decorated in holiday finery is planned next month. Victorian Christmas decorations. Dutch decorations. a child's Christmas, a musical Christmas, vintage clothing at Christmastime. Christmas lights, and holiday foods will be the themes featured in this year's "Cape May Inns at Christmastime" tours. The tour is an expansion of previous tours of four inns, reflecting the increasing popularity of Cape May as a wintertime destina- . tion, with seven bed-and-breakfast inns now open year round. THE SEVEN INNS open for visitors are Alex ander's. 653 Washington St.. where the foods and table setting for the holidays will be featured, and as a special treat, refreshments will be served At the Brass Bed. 719 Columbia Ave . a child's Christmas will be celebrated with a lb-foot tree and heirloom toys and a dollhouse. A Captain Mey's Inn. 202 Ocean St.. there will be traditional Dutch decorations including wooden shoes filled with straw for Santa's horses, and Delft pottery. the tour are not available. Tickets are sold at each inn during the hours of the tour and are good for all seven inns; single house tickets are not available. The tour is self-guided, visitors enjoy the decorations of each inn at their own pace, and stroll to the next house only a few steps away. Groups are welcome to tour the "Cape May Inns at Christmastime" with advance arrangements. All seven inns provide an especially warm welcome to overnight guests during December, and guests in residence are welcomed free of charge to the >-£Vednesday tours.
