Tomorrow is "Youth in Government Day" when Middle Township High School students will "take over" the positions of their adult administrative officials in Middle Township, the local School Administration. functions during its ninth ; year > John itoherson Phil : Heck are the coordinates i for the event i The Middle Township Christmas Parade will begin at G p.m Friday at Main Street and Stone Harbor Boulevard and proceed south on Main to MechanicStreet. then west on Mechanic to Boyd Street and south on Boyd to the Fire House TIIK LIGHTING of the township Christmas tree on top of Township Hall will also take place. Santa Claus will set up shop at the Court House Fire Hall to talk to the kiddies. Hot chocolate and other refreshments will be served. In the parade, floats will be judged and given first, second, and third place trophies. Trophies will also be given to the fire department with the best decorated equipment and the best stock engine. The parade is sponsored by the Middle Township Recreation Department. The Middle Township Recreation Department will be sponsoring a puppet show in the Elementary School 3 auditorium Saturday The show, entitled •"Adventure in Star Worlds", will be pul on by Puppet Works of New York City. Showtime is 1 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door OVER 2.200 was raised at the Fourth Annual Beef n Beer to benefit the Joseph M Norton Scholarship Fund at the Green Creek Fire Hall Nov. 23. The 300 people in attendance enjoyed the music provided by the Kentucky Dave Band. K Township High School students participating in this year's studentexchange program returned home at midnight Nov 9 along with teacher Biith Weimer. Their flight home was delayed seven hours because of technical problems The English host families
were terrific and very supportive of the group, according to the 12 girls who traveled to England Liz Stokes, the British art teacher whose home was where Weimer stayed during her trip to England, will travel with her students to the United States in the spring and spend a month in Middle Township at the homes of the MTHS students and teacher. The students especiallyliked their trip to the Tassaud Wax Museum in London, where they enjoyed the likes of such superstars as Michael Jackson. Boy George. Elton John, and Dolly Farton: they also enjoyed the Chamber of Horrors, with every piece of execution equipment ever devised. Another highlight of their trip was the Halloween Party held in observance of Guy Fawkes' night The celebration included a mock hanging and bonfire. Fawkes was an Englishman involved in a plot to blow up Parliament in the 17th Century. THE COURT House Kiwanis Club will hold its annual Christmas dinner in the Crystal Room at the Atlas Motor Inn. Cape May. Dec. 16. The cocktail' hour will begin at 6 p.m.. dinner will be served 7 p.m. Music to dance by will be provided by "Now and Then " There will also be door prizes For reservations call 886-4121.
