Simple but delicious fare is featured in The Best of Shaker Cooking Another cookbook of local interest is Savory Suppers and Fashionable Feasts: Dining in Victorian America by Susan Williams. SCIENCE BI FFS will have at least a dozen books on Halley's Comet to choose from: amateur naturalists will gravitate to The Grizzly Bear, and Perfect Symmetry: The Search for the Beginning of Time by Heinz R. Pagels will intrigue and add a great deal to philosophical insights to conversations Mystery lovers who open A Day Without Sunshine by Les Whitten will probably have to be dragged out in time for dinner.
