Kiwanis Donates To Needy CAPE MAY - "Walk with a Child" is the title of the 1985-1986 Major Emphasis Program for Kiwanis International. It is a service program designed to help materially underprivileged children. With this in mind the Kiwanis Club of Cape May is sponsoring a Kiwanis Cupboard under the direction of Jim Washington and Vinnie McGuire. THE PROJECT involves weekly donations by the members of non-perishable food items which will be given to the Greater Cape May Ministerium. The ministeriumn keeps a food locker which provides food for people having trouble buying food. Several boxes of food were given Dec. 11 to Rev. Cass Shaw of the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May, where the food locker is kept. Dr. James Rochford, president of the club, said that food will be turned over to the Ministerium every two months to help the hungry. First UMC In Avalon AVALON — Sunday worship at the First United Methodist Church, 34th and Dune Drive, is at 11 a.m., with nursery care available. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:45 a.m. Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held 7 p.m. Dec. 24. Following the service, the carolers will visit shut-ins to sing and deliver poinsettias and goodies. The same order of service will be followed Sunday, Dec. 29. Christmas Eve Meeting Set
SEAVILLE - Seaviile Meeting of the Religious New Priest At St. Ann WILDWOOD - St. Ann parish here has a new associate pastor, the Rev. Vincent Carpinelli. Father Carpinelli, formerly temporary associated pastor of St. Joan of Arch, Camden, was assigned to the Wildwood church as of Monday. The transfer was announced by Camden Bishop George H. Guilfoyle. Our Saviour Christmas Musical STONE HARBOR - At the 11 a.m. service this Sunday at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, the children of the Sunday Church School will offer the Christmas musical, "Once Upon a Christmas Star". The Service of the Word will be the order of worship. During the service, Morgan Anders Harris and , James Ryan Hersh will receive the Sacrament of Ho- 1 ly Baptism. A coffee/fellowship hour will follow. Bible study continues at 1 p.m. each Thursday preceded by a brown-bag lunch. Friday, the choir will have their annual Christmas party at the home of Dot Fink. Worship on Christmas Eve will be at 7 : 30 p.m. The service will feature familiar lessons and carols with special music by the choir and soloists. Pastor Schoenberger's sermon is entitled, "The Child Who Melted Our Hearts".
Society of Friends (Quakers) announces a Christmas Eve Meeting for Worship 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, Dec. 24, at the Meeting House located, Rt. 9 one mile south of junction 50 here. The service will feature scripture readings, traditional carols, intermingled with periods of silent reflection. Fellowship and refreshments will follow in Friendship Hall. Visitors are welcome.
'Miracle Baby' Is Theme COURT HOUSE - Sunday morning worship is held 10 o'clock at the Arbutus Lodge, one-quarter mile north of Super Fresh on Route 9. On this Christmas Sunday Pastor Richard J. Green Jr. will preach a sermon called "Miracle Baby" based on Luke 1:26-38 and Matthew 1:18-25. A Junior Church and nursery are provided. At 7 p.m. Sunday a "prayer and praise" service will be held at the church parsonage on Route 9 in Swainton, two doors south of Radio Station WWOC. A CHRISTMAS EVE service will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church parsonage, 1563 Route 9, Swainton. The service is called a "Gifts for Jesus" service. In celebration of Jesus' birthday presents to Him, along with cards and poems, are put under a Christmas tree. During the service children open the cards and presents and read the message on each to th® congregation. Pastor Green will preach a sermon called "The First Noel". The parsonage is three miles North of Court House on Rt. 9 south of radio station WWOC.
