|(From Page 33) J I trade, not transient. With I them was Ronald Showers I (his calling card bears an II umbrella ) who's been work1 ing on renovation with them. It was our first trip to Snickers but it won't be our last. It's beautifully decorated, has the advantage of Palladian windows and a contemporaryWilliamsburg (if that's not too contradictory) flavor. ' Menu presented a large choice of different entrees, i.e. poached salmon and chicken Veronique. Don't often run into those here and prices were very .realistic. Jane and Carey Boss came in and we shared a table. They had roast beef and said it was top drawers We made an early night of it, since the Bosses are packing for Florida. Ernie and Ruthie Blair came in before we left — Snickers is establishing a regular clientele.

EVERY CHRISTMAS we hear news that saddens us. All emotions are heighten -«t this time so pleasure is doubled when we hear of someone's helping another. Madilyn McClure of Stone Manor is that kind of person. She help6 others year round. It was natural that she would be called when an area family hit bad times. Last week she was told that a family of 10, four children, their parents and grandparents, lost their home and all possessions to a fire in Belleplain. We offered to help, told a small group of people of the family's plight and next morning three people arrived with their arms full of clothes, blankets, food, etc. You'd never believe the influx since. Some people still believe in Santa Claus. Imitate him, in fact.
