i THE COUNTY Art League, located in the Carriage House of the Physic Estate, 1050 Washington St., has an interesting exhibit for the remainder of the month. Members are displaying their works for all to see and also a chance to sell some of them. There are watercolor scenes of Cape May streets, the shores of Maine, scenes of Italy and Paris. Also, oil portraits of family, friends, Madonna and Christ, and photographs of many subjects can be viewed. There is two-dimensional works, _ three dimensional pieces in clay, porcelain, silver, copper and enamel jewelry, also some forms of wood carvings and bowls. In addition, there are all sorts of books, some with a comical look at art, computers and life in general. Guide books of Cape May are available too. Last but surely not least, is the display of gingerbread houses. Don't miss this - the whole family will enjoy these fantastic houses. CAPE MAY Women's Republican Club meeting is Monday, Dec. 30, with luncheon at the Gold Whale, Marquis de Lafayette, starting about 12:30 p.m. Lots of plans for 1986 will be discussed, including the casino trip scheduled Jan. 20. President Sarah Henry will give all particulars at the meeting. Be prepared for a delicious luncheon and bring a friend if you like. This is a cordial group always looking to do the . utmost. v WHILE THIS MAY seem far ahead, there is going to be something extra special MARCH 7. There's going to be a Saint Patrick Gala Affair, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.. sponsored by Star of the Sea in the Parish hall on Ocean Street.

There'll be dancing, delicious food and a show by Pat Roper and his band, i all the way from Queens, New York. This band has performed in Hawaii, Paris, Ireland, Scotland and all over the U.S. This is going to be an ultra affair with no tickets sold at the door - all will be sold in advance at $17.50 per person. Tom O'Neill is chairperson and I'll have the list of : his committee soon. In addition there'll be a souvenir booklet - something to remember the evening of fun, laughter, good time etc. The $17.50 price does not include liquor - it's a b.y.o.b. affair. The music, show and food will be extra special so that it will be something we have not seen in Cape May as yet! Mark your calendar now so you can be prepared for this outstanding event and remember no tickets sold at the door. I'll have the names of those who will be selling tickets - but mostly you can obtain them from the "ticket booth" (used for car sale tickets) outside the church.
