COURT HOUSE - The New Jersey Travel and Resort Association paid

special tribute to Jack Lamping for his lifelong dedication to tourism at the group's December meeting. In receiving NJTRA's Presidential Award, Lamping was recognized as one of the founders of the association and for his 40 years of work to make tourism the state's largest industry. LAMPING IS currently serving as NJTRA's legislative chairman. His efforts were instrumental in defeating the recent Villane-Walker bill to establish a shore protection fund by taxing hotels/motels and beach tags. He is now working to secure public hearings on beach protection. Lamping is employed as a vice president with the First National Bank of Toms River. NJTRA also introduced the winners of the TOP (Tourism's Outstanding Person) Awards at its December meeting. These awards went to service employes who excel at tourist hospitality. One of the recipients of the TOP Awards was Kay Simon, an information hostess for Ocean City. BjUji raSHr
