The Middle Township High School held its "1985 Christmas Concert" in the Elementary School 3 auditorium Dec. 17. The Advanced Choir, each member dressed in an orange and black robe and holding a candle sung "0 Come Emanuel." The Concert Choir then walked in a processional to the stage and joined the Advanced Choir in singing "Noel, Noel, What a Wonderful Day"; "Praise Ye the Lord of Hosts"; and "The 0 Shepherds Chorus from Amahl and the Night Visitors with Randy Wolford paying a bass solo. The Szymanski sisters — Jeanette. Michelle, and Adrianne, sung "Christmas Is". THE COMBINED choirs then sang "We need a Little Christmas," "Christmas in the Air," and "Hanukah Dance" with Dane DuFour playing various percussion instruments. The Faculty Choir with members David Calvert. Mark Seim, Phil Heck. Kathy Colangelo, Judy Jenkins. Dane DuFour. John Sow a. and Art Cornell, sang "Christmas is Coming".
"Go Tell it on the Mountain," with the original arrangement by local composer apd Wildwood "High School educator Betty Jackson King, was sung by the MTHS Octet with T. Shawn Whittington Jr. and Randy Wolford singing bass; Robin Sudan and Linda Frank, alto; Debbie Williams and Tanya Wakefield, soprano; and Hans Krown and Michael Donovan, tenor. The choirs concluded their portion of the program by singing "Carols Around", "Rock and Roll Christmas", and 'O Christmas Wish". LAN ETTA DESROSIERS was the choir director. LeeAnn Mcllvaine was the choir's accompanist. The MTHS Marching Band under the direction of Richard Ludwig played a "Joy Medley" including "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Joy to the World", with arrangements by M. Gunderson; a "Good King Medley" including "Good King Wencesles" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" with arrangements also by Hunderson; and "Maiaguena", with arrangements by Ernesto Lecuona. "Maiaguena" was a selection played from the band's field show in San Diego, Calif. The band members surprised the audience when they made their appearance in the auditorium to perform on stage as they were dressed in "California tourist apparel" instead of their traditional band costumes. One student stuck a "California Cooler" sticker on Ludwig's back. Ludwig thanked the band members' parents and I guardians for helping he | students raise the $67,000 to i pay for the band's trip to San Diego to perform in the Christmas Parade and Holiday Bowl.
