Hear this: False eyelashes are a must! In fact, it's been predicted that it will become such a daily habit with you that you'll be wearing them to the supermarket and just about everywhere. It makes me remember when I tried wearing these gorgeous long eyelashes and one time I lost one. In fact, it had dropped on the floor near where I was standing. Looking about for the "lost treasure"... I saw this dark what seem to be long-legged creature and I promptly let out a yell... not ever thinking it was my lost eyelash. Of course, at this point, those around me hurried to my rescue, and my embarrassment was two-fold. All got to know I feared crawling creatures or whatever this was, and I was minus long-lovely eyelashes in one eye. Oh well. I'm willing to try again, especially since it's become such a "fashion must". SHE'S JUST got to be "Cape May's Most Fabulous Hostess" — none other than Bea1 Pessagno, ( Mrs. Charles) . At their recent Christmas Office Celebration (National Associates), both Bea and husband Charles, who is president, were the epitome of good hosting and hostessing. ^ Catering %as by
"Candlelight and Caviar" of Avalon tformer Texas Market of Cape May). I was happy to see something other than Victorian Christmas... their whole decor was strikingly beautiful - bright, lots of sunlight and so much good taste to go with it. Last but not least, were Bea and Charles Pessagno's two older children, Francis. 12, handsomely attired and every inch the gentleman, and Caroline, who is younger, in a beautiful sort of paisley pants outfit — also very much in style. The youngest. Stephanie, who is just starting to walk, was at home with Grandma. Our very best wishes out to this very gracious Cape May couple who desbrve much admiration and continued success. JOHN McGINNIS of Cape May and Philadelphia, where he teaches World History at Lincoln High School, was given 48 hours to develop a curriculum that would involve Japanese studies. Three days after the school submitted its curriculum proposal to the World Affairs Council, a S500 grant was given them to help finance student correspondence with their sister stfhool in Omyu, Japan, and eventually exchange students. Last summer there were eight exchange students from Japan. In addition, the Vice Consul of the Japanese Embassy was on hand for the dedication of a garden which marked the start of a deeper awareness of the Japanese people and their culture* The day-long festivities included a Tea Ceremony conducted by a tea ceremonialist and a luncheon consisting of food prepared Japanese style. The students put everything together - and now have a Japanese Cultural Day. Of course, teacher. John McGinpis, supervised the students all the way. HERE'S ANOTHER Cape May-ite in the news. He's John A. Gaudiosi, III of Bishop Ireton High School, Alexandria. Va, - named as the school's representative to the 1986 Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation Seminar. Each private and public high school in the United States has been invited to determine a nominee. Gaudiosi was selected by an Ireton Committee of Judges on the basis of his response to several essay questions. The Hugh O'Brian Foundation (HOBY) expects more than 9,000 sophomore nominees to attend one of the 73 seminars HOBY will hold in every state, next Spring. There is no cost to the school or student and the three day expense paid weekend leadership seminar will focus on "America's Incentive System." Gaudiosi, is the son of John and Maureen Gaudiosi. GET WELL: to Kay . Hillegai, secretary of Star of the Sea Altar and Rosary Society, who recently fell on the ice and broke her hip. Kay's at BurdetteTomlin Hospital
