Dining & Entertainment , -J-- | By Libby Demp Forrest a ^ 1986 is the new year to learn to write on checks and letters. Oh. it'll take a little while to sink in, hot we'll be getting the hang of it before long. For the most part, January usually means that winter has us in her grip, and most of us are more comfortable indoors than outdoors. There are the hearty members of the Polar Bear Club and others who don't mind the cold, but a lot more of us belong to the club of creature comforts. We like our fireplaces, and our wood stove, a nd our warm clothes. There is always a new spirit in the air in January. It's the time to make resolutions and plans, to await the arrival of seed catalogs and after-Christmas >ales. JANUARY makes one a little philosophic^ too. This is a time of year to test our patience, to mull over hew that old tree in the back yard manages to survive tha onslaught of snow, and wind, and a wild, wet storm The party season will continue for awhile, and decorated Christmas trees will stand for a spell, testimonial to a beautiful time of year. We wish you and yours a Happy New Year. Hope 1986 brings you fulfillment to many things yearned for. While this special time of year continues, you'll want to enjoy it to the hilt.
