Vets' Visitation Scheduled Feb. 14

RIO GRANDE — The county Veterans* Bureau and local veterans' organizations will sponsor a third annual Valentine's Day visitation Friday, Feb. 14, to veterans in hospitals or service homes. The group will visit the Wilmington Veterans AdministFation Hospital, Delaware, and the New Jersey State Memorial Home for Soldiers, Sailors and Widows in Vineland. BUSINESSES will be asked for donations for the veterans. Anyone who wishes to take part is asked to call John Moran, veterans' director, 886-2762 1 or 886-2763. or a local 1 veterans organization. [ Local elementary schools will be asked to make Valentines to be distributed to hospitalized veterans. It is hoped to have four buses, which will leave 8 a.m. from the parking lot of the Social Services Building. Rtes. 47 and 9. There will be coffee and doughnuts before leaving and sandwiches and soda will be provided on the bus. Card Party WILDWOOD CREST - A card party sponsored by Chapter 118, Order of Eastern Star, will be held 11 ia.m. Monday. Jan. 27, at the Masonic Temple, 6300 Atlantic Ave. Refreshments will be offered.

Those planning to attend are asked to advise the veterans' bureau or their local veterans' organization by Monday, Feb. 10, for reservations. Art League Offering Workshops CAPEMAYWorkshops in a variety of media will be offered by the Cape May County Art League at 1050 Washington St. during the coming weeks. Among the offerings are: The league will hold onehour sessions for preschoolers, 3 years and up, to experience clay. The children will learn to shape, mold, sculpt, glaze and fire the clay. Sessions will be held Fridays between 2 and 3 p.m.. To register, call 884-8628. THE LEAGUE will also offer an introductory ceramic course in basic handbuilding, wheelthrowing. glazing and firing techniques. The class will be offered Wednesday 7-10 p.m. To register for the ceramics course, call 884-8628 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. This course will run for eight weeks beginning Jan. 29. A multimedia workshop

Tribute Paid King

OCEAN CITY — An inter-faith program honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. on the first national holiday celebrating his birth was held at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, Monday. Ocean City clergy,* city officials and lay persons participated in the ceremony. All city offices were closed Monday to celebrate the holiday. A TALK about the importance of Dr. King and his positive contributions to international brotherhood was given by civic leader Rozelia Cobb.

A tape of Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech was played and local clergymen offered brief tributes. Mayor Jack Bittner read a city proclamation honoring Dr. King. Boro Olympics AVALON — The Annual Winter Olympics sponsored by the Recreation Department is scheduled for this Saturday. Events for children of all ages will begin at 11 a.m. For information call 967-3066.
