Puppet Show Aids In Understanding

COURT HOUSE - The Cape May County "Kids on the Block" puppeteers had their premier showing Thursday, Jan. 15. for students at Ocean Academy, in the Crest Haven Complex here. The "'Kids on the Block" concept was developed by Barbara Aiello, who formerly taught a special education class in Washington, D.C. The puppet performances provide a method of narrowing the differences between the disabled and the non-dis-abled student. THE SUCCESS of the first puppet project gave Aiello the impetus to expand her family of puppets and to perform at camps as well as schools. In 1978, she began reproducing her family of puppets and marketing them so peoOn Woman Composer CAPE MAY - Rose Haering will review the life and works of Carrie Jocobs Bond, America's foremost woman composer, on her Music Highlights program 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13. at the Cape Island Baptist Church, Columbia Avenue and Guerney Street. Ms. Haering's lecturerecitals are educational entertainment the church welcomes everyone to attend the free musicales 1 : 30 p.m. the second Thursday of every month, when a different composer will be presented.
