GLORIA — ONE GOOD JOKE 'Gloria ' Still Bound To Marina Chimney

By GREGG LAWSON GRASSY SOUND - Who is that woman and why is she lashed to a chimney? Her name is "Gloria" and she's the result of a "little private joke" between Grassy Sound Marina owner Tony Rantuccio and Fred Uhlman. who keeps two boats there. It all started last summer when Rantuccio placI ed the armless, naked mannequin on one of Uhlman's boats. Realizing that "one good joke deserves another," Uhlman waited until the marina sponsored a big i flounder fishing tournai ment an July 20 to extract his revenge, i "I GOT THERE early, put a sw^at suit on her. ! climbed up on the roof and tied her to the chinmey, he said. "Everybody noticI ed it but Tony ; he was too I wrapped up in the ; tournament, f "He finally noticed late in the afternoon," Uhlman [ added. "He climbed up there and we took lots pf pictures of him with his arms around her." I The pair decided to leave i her in place when they heard Hurricane Gloria i was coming. ; "We decided to leave her i up to see what would happen," Uhlman said. "She rode out the storm very well and got her name. •Gloria." " SHE'S BEEN UP THERE ever since, and has attracted a lot of attention, j "We get all kinds of people stopping along the \ ( !N o r t h Wildwood j Boulevard) bridge to take pictures of her," Uhlman said. "When I climbed on the roof and put a dress on ' her, people were yelling all kinds of obscene things at

me from up there." The next time you're up on the bridge, take a good look at her chest. The message says "Hi Tony!"
