Leaders Sought By 4-H COURT HOUSE - The Cape May County 4-H program needs volunteer leaders to conduct meetings and activities for children 7-19. The adults may be retired persons, working or non-working mothers or fathers, single people, or couples without children who would like to get involved with them. The 4-H program is an informal educational program for all boys and girls 7 to 19. In 4-H youngsters learn practical skills and have fun at the same time. The 4-H clubs consist of small groups of boys and girls supervised by one or more adult volunteers. They hold j. regular meetings, elect offi9 cers. plan activities and work on 4-H projects. CLUBS CAN meet at the 4-H Office, the leader's home, or any community meeting place. The organization has projects in all subject areas. Some of the many include: automotive, babysitting, bicycle, crafts, dog, cat and rabbit, food-nutrition, gardening, horse and livestock. fishing, nature and environment. Vinci Polls Public On Mall Project
NORTH WILDWOOD - In an effort to measure residents' feelings. Mayor i Lewis G. Vinci has sent out ) a ballot on the proposed I Lighthouse Square, a shopping mall with historic Hereford Lighthouse as its focal point.
On the ballot, residents are given three choices: Let's build it now. Let's build it later, or Let's Forget about It for now. Vinci points out in a letter accompanying the ballot that the development may revitalize the fiveblock area, linking the proposed North Wildwood Boulevard access road, the seawall. Kennedy Boulevard, the beach and boardwalk He urges, residents to weigh the need, the cost, the benefits, Vmd the potential for the citjL Financing, he says, would he done over a 10-year period, and the city intends to explore all possible grant funding from the state and federal governments. Parker-Townsend ; Nuptials Are Told
j CAPE MAY - Miss Gail I. Parker of Glenolden. Pa., was united in marriage with Mark N. Townsend at a double ring ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church here last Dec. 7 with Pastor Cass L. Shaw officiating. The bride is the daughter [ of Richard E. Parker of I Glenolden. Pa., and Mrs. t Isabel Abriola of Deptford. t The groom is the son of Mr ! and Mrs. Robert L. Townsend of West Lake. Cal.
Susan E. Rosen, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Leslie A. Townsend of West Lake was the bridesmaid and Amanda L. McDonough of North Cape May was the flower girl. BEST MAN was Ron Jentzen. who is stationed in Newport. R.I. Kevin Williams, who is stationed in Chincoteague, Va.. served as groomsman The groom and his attendants wore full dress U.S. Coast Guard uniform. The bride wore a full length white taffeta gown of her own design. A reception was held at the Washington Inn here. The bride, a graduate of Interboro High School, works as a dental assistant The groom was educated in Santa Barbara. Cal. He is assigned to the dispensary at the U.S. Coast Guard Station here. The couple resides in Villas.
Cape Girl At 4-H Congress COLD SPRING - Dawn Dickinson, 17. of New England Road, was selected a national winner and attended the 1985 National 4-H Congress in Chicago, Nov. 30-Dec. 6. She was one of 31 New Jersey 4-H'ers attending the event. They were selected by state staff, specialists and 4-H agents of the New Jersey Cooperative Extension Service of Rutgers University's Cook College, which administers the 4-H program in the state Dickinson, daughter of George and Rose Dickinson, as the health project winner received an allexpense paid trip in recognition for her achievements in the 4-H Health program. Donor is Kraft, Inc. A 4-H MEMBER for eight years and interested in health activities, Dickinson has spent much of her time learning about and / preparing nutritional foods— and working with the dicapped. She figures she has reached over 4.000 people with her favorite topics. She has served on manycommittees and various offices in her club. Other projects carried include arts and crafts, clothing, child care, gardening, needlework, forestry, food preservation, public speaking. electricity, citizenship and leadership. Dickinson is a junior at Lower Cape May Regional High School and plans a future career in health and physical fitness. ACS Planning Trump's Trip RIO GRANDE - The Cape May County unit of the American Cancer Society is sponsoring a bus trip to Trump Castle Casino Monday. Feb. 24.
