Dining & Entertainment f55? 4ft Guide A . f55' t By l.ibby Demp Forrest X— -I THE LENTEN SEASON begins today, culminating with Easter Sunday. March 30th. In addition to Ash Wednesday today, this day also marks Lincoln's Birthday It doesn't happen too often that these events both fall on the same day. The day after tomorrow is Valentine's Day We've got our valentines all addressed and in the mail It so happens that Valentine's Day is one of our favorite days of the year. We not only love to send valentines, we love to get them. Hint. Hint. Our favorite valentines are the homemade variety, with homespun rhymes and fanciful thoughts There were the comic valentines too when we were youngsters, such as "Roses are red. Violets are blue. If I had your disposition. I'd be in the zoo." And so on. Do you remember those comic valentines? WHILE FEBRUARY can be an irksome month, one can take heart knowing that almost half of it has already passed. We remember quite of few times when mid-February brought an unexpected thaw, almost a touch of springtime. No doubt you're noticing the lengthening daylight, bringing with it an appetite for looking into the seed catalogs. The Philadelphia Flower Show is just a few weeks away — signaling the start of the growing season. While Valentine's Day is occupying our thoughts, we'd \ like to recommend some romantic places to take your J] favorite person this weekend: / SNICKERS. Celebrate romance this week at Snickers, at 96th Street Harbor Square Mall in Stone Harbor where your sweetheart will be treated to a free corsage on Valentine's Day. Enjoy a romantic dinner in the congenial atmosphere of one of Stone Harbor's nicest restaurants. Make your reservations early for this special occasion dinner featuring choices from Snickers great menu which includes brochettes of shrimps and scallops. Veal Saltimbocco and the delicious prime rib buffet. As always. Snickers superb dessert choices complete a romantic dinner (such as chocolate mousse pie or the raspberry mocha blizzard). Coffees include Cafe Colleen (Irish cream and Irish whiskey), and Cafe Wimbleton (strawberries and - cream liqueur). Snickers wine and liquor selection make the perfect meal accompanyment. GOLD WHALE. The Gold Whale Restaurant and Lounge will be presenting a Valentine's rendezvous with special foods and entertainment this weekend only for Valentine sweethearts.
