Dining & Entertainment JL- , By Libby Demp Forrest g ^ > GET READY for some surprises in the weather as we edge closer and closer toward spring. When you're all ready for spring, the weather does a turn around. Just about the time you start looking for that first robin. Mother Nature is apt to leave a blanket of new, clean snow with a howling wind to boot. The sun is creeping higher and higher in the sky at noon, and no doubt you're noticing how much lighter it is now in the early morning. A late February or March snowfall cannot last as long as a heavy snow earlier in the winter - because there's a greater heat from the sun now on rooftops and on streets. The first robins are enroute, flying from Bermuda and Florida and other gulf states where they spent the winter. Along with the flock of robins are the early birds (human species) who'll be returning from the southlands too. We're close too to seeing the first bloom of crocuses and JL snowdrops. The month of March is a little than a week Tv^ away. In like a lion, out like a lamb? We'll just have to J J] wait and see . . . iy In spite of the fickleness of late February weather, the warmth of our local restaurants is a pleasant retreat from the outdoors.
