Moore Is Associate Publisher CAPE MAY - John A. Moore, a city resident, has been appointed associate publisher of The Oil Daily, a daily trade newspaper in I Washington. D.C.. serving ^ the nation's energy and i petrochemical industries, j About 23,000 readers get I the newspaper every day. )} Moore, of 314 Jefferson St., is the husband of Libby Demp Forrest, who writes the Joyride II column for this paper. Most of his working time is spent in Washington, or in various energy centers, such as Houston or Dallas, Tex. HE FORMERLY was editor in charge of special supplements for The Oil Daily, and before that was the newspaper's managing editor when it was headquartered in Somerset, N.J. Prior to joining The Oil Daily in 1970, he was executive editor of another daily trade newspaper, American Metal Market Moore entered the newspaper business in 1941 J at the age of 9. He published a 9,000 circulation weekly newspaper in South Philadelphia while a teenager, while at the same time being an editor and cartoonist for" his high school paper. Later, while in the U.S. Army, he was an editor on two Army newspapers and edited his troopship's newspaper when the Navy editor got sick on board. After leaving military service, he founded the Philadelphia Star, a newspaper aimed at young readers, and the Delaware Valley Commerce Journal. a weekly business newspaper.
