Grand Opening At Ames

COURT HOUSE - The grand opening of the new outlet here of Ames Department Stores Inc . formerly Murphy's Mart, will be held 9 a m. Saturday. The store acquired last April from the G.C. Murphy Co., is the 203rd bearing the Ames name. Local dignitaries and Ames officials will toe present for the traditional ribbon cutting at the store, Dennisville Road and Route 9. The ceremonies will also start seven days of Grand Opening values throughout the refurbished 52.000-square-foot store THE MONEY ribbon is to symbolize donations that will be made to the Cape May County Park Zoo. Middle Township Fire Co. 1. and the Middle Township Ambulance Squad. In addition, two infant car seats will be donated to Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. According to Darwin Weaver, store manager, the Court House Ames will continue a tradition of com-

munity support by extending an open invitation to non-profit groups in the community to hold bake sales, car washes, rummage sales, or other fund raisers in the parking lot or lobby. WEAVER. WHO has 22 years of experience in the retail industry, has managed the store here since 1983. He lives in Rio Grande with his wife and two children.

\ Squad Buys Ambulance ; PETERSBURG -A new Braun Mini-Mod Ambulance has been received ' by the Upper Township Rescue Squad. The new . vehicle will replace one of the older pieces of equip- [ ment. The cost of the new ambulance was $49,500 unequipped. Another re1 cent addition was an im- : proved radio system which cost more than $10,000. The squad has served the community for more than 20 years. More than 600 runs were made last year. Funding received anually from the Township of Upper is used for routine operating expenses. Two daytime emergency medical technician/drivers are employed on a five-day weekly basis during daytime hours. All other squad members serve as volunteers The acquisition of new equipment is made possible through contributions received and fundraising efforts by squad members
