Hospital Auxiliary Donates $141,000
SOMERS POINT -'it was a banner year for the Shore Memorial Hospital Auxiliary fund-raising endeavors in 1985 resulting in a $141,000 donation to the facility, an increase of nearly 25 percent over last year's figure. The donation, the combined annual effort of the three auxiliary chapters and the hospital's gift and thrift shops, was made by Doris Ford Baum, auxiliary executive board chairman, at the body's 21 annual luncheon March 6. at Harobr Lights Restaurant, Somers Point. SOME 1119.000 of the * total donation will go towards the purchase of a new Computerized Tomography <CT) Scan to replace the current unit. Roy Gillian, president ot the hospital's board of trustees, praised and thanked the auxilians for their fundraising efforts. "This is very impressive." Gillian said as he accepted the check from Baum. Baum said the auxilians hope that the 1986 donation will be equallyimpressive. The Ocean City Chapter's 1985 donation was $14,000. which i represents a year's worth i of card parties, fashion I shows and other activities. THE JUNIOR League Chapter -contributed $37,525, of which $14,525 was proceeds from the Kids for Kids Lap Swim, which directly benefits the pediatric department at Shore Memorial. The Mainland Chapter's 1985 donation of $39,100 includes memorial donations totalling $8,400 in addition to its $30,700 donation from activities such as the
Christmas Bazaar, Night at the Races and the Backyard Bash. The donation from the auxiliary and volunteer operated gift and thrift shops total over $50,000. The Thrift Shop's contribution was $20,300, while the Atrim Gift Shop's was $30,000.
