Express Stars Open With a Tie

Very strong games by Kathy Mader and Steven Wade brought about an Express-dominated match which was evident by the 7-1 final. Locomotive scorers were Tommy Rich. Keith Hirsch. Kenny Dickinson, i Kenny also placed an additional 3 bails in the net which were "no-goal" due to off-side play. Other scorers were Brian Daily (2). Gary Lucas, and Robert Quinn. THE ONLY Express team to open their season, on-the-road was the under-12 Silver Streak which traveled to Cinnaminson. N.J. to challenge the Strikers. Joe Higman. assisted by Lou Ostrander. put both Express shots "in the net" but their efforts just couldn't overthrow the strikers offensive team. The final Express team watched as the Galloway, N.J under-io team came, saw. and were conquered by our local Engineers Our area youths held the visitors at bay while double

scores were made by Frankie Jancsura, and a single from Sean French gave the Engineers their first shout-out of the Spring Season. ' Signups Slated DENNISVILLE - Cape May Pee Wee. Tourney Winners

AVALON — Winners in the Greater Avalon Fishing Tournament sponsored by the borough for 1985 have been announced, with awards being taken by 11 Cape May County anglers. The tourney, conducted by George Miller, closed Dec. 1. The awards consisted of silver plaques bearing the Avalon logo with the name of the fish in blue lettering, mounted on mahogany.
