We've now seen our first robin and that mysterious purple crocus that suddenly pops up out of nowhere in the backyard. In our book, spring has arrived. Hallelujah ''Morning is now greeted with a chorus of bird songs, and evenings are filled with the songs of the peepers in the / marshes. It gets our heart to singing to>hear these sweet s songs of springtime. j . It's time to fill the house with springtime flowers, pussy f willows, daffodils, and cherry baskets of toy chicks and \ bunnies that managed to survive childhood. WHEN the children were younger the Easter Bunny left notes for them in their baskets on Easter morning During J the days before Easter, we would dye eggs and hoped the t colors would turn out exactly as we had in mind t The eggs were better in the dyeing than in the eating. ^ We much preferred chocolate eegs. jelly beans, and mar- J shmellow chicks and bunnies Tne world may have changed a lot since we filled those Easter Baskets, but { youngsters still seem to prefer the candy over the hard S boiled eggs.
