Activities Added Easter Sunday

WILDWOOD - Several changes have been incorporated in the city's Easter Sunday Celebration to make the event more fun. The day-long celebration starts off with a 6 a.m. sunrise service at the boardwalk bandshell. The half-hour service, coordinated by the Greater Wild wood Pastoral Association and complemented by a small brass ensemble, is a salute to the significance and meaning of Easter. From noon until 4 p.m.. activities will occur at the bandshell. AN ART EXHIBIT spon sored by the Cape May County Art League, and a student poster contest will be featured, representing some of the county's professional and student artists. At 12:30 pm. a Dixieland band. "The Doctors of Rhythm", will present an old fashioned music performance. The Best Dressed Contest will take place at 1 p.m Trophies, books of amusement ride tickets and other prizes will lie awarded in the following categories: Ladies. Gentlemen. Families. Teenager < 13 and olderi girls. Teenagers < 13 and/older) boys/ Girls <<R2>. Boys <6-12>. Toddlers (4 and 5 1 girls. Toddlers 1 4 and 5i boys. Babies (3 and under) girls. Babies (3 and under) boys. The Wild wood Civic Club and Evening Membership Department will judge the I contest TO HELP BRING back I the atmosphere, custom and fun of wearing Easter outfits on the boardwalk, which has slipped away over the years, all contest judges and other volunteers will be wearing spring's classic hats and gloves They encourage and invite everyone planning to stroll the boardwalk

to join in this tradition. At 1:30 p.m.. an Easter Promenade will begin at 26th Street going south on the boardwalk. Included in the stroll, will be: the U.S. Coast Guard Band and Drill Team: the Wildwood String Band dressed in full New Year's Day costume: a Dixieland Band: local antique cars; and several Recreation Division classes The public is invited to participate in the stroll and walk along with the bands. At 2 p.m.. the Easter Rabbit will visit with children at the bandshell. joined by the Coast Guard Band and the Wildwood String Band. A NEW EASTER Bonnet and Bow Tie contest will also be held. In addition, over 400 live orchids, imported from Hawaii, will be given to those who come out to join in the Sunday special activities. The program is sponsored by the City of Wildwood and assisted by the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce. Single Parents Shore Chapter, Single Parents Society, will hold an I.R.S. Dance 8:30-11:30 p.m., April 15. Music will be provided by "The Silhouettes". Refresehments will be served. Classes Set In Ballet, Tap, Jazz VILLAS — The Lower Township Recreation Department will sponsor a seven-week dance session in Tap. Jazz and Ballet this spring season. Children's class (ages 7-14) and tots' class <5 and 6) will be held after school on Tuesdays beginning April 15. A Senior Citizen and Adult class -in Beginners' Tap Dancing is also scheduled for Tuesdays at 2:30 p.m. A FEE WILL be charged for the session, with seniors receiving a discount.
