Wildwood Sets 38-Cent Property Tax Increase
WILDWOOD'S assessed valuation climbed by "$4.2 million last year to S405.295.239. Its proposed 1986 budget is up by $1.19 million, or 11.9 percent, to $11,168,379. The amount to be raised by local taxes increased $1.5 million, to $6,202,100. the largest increase in the county. That means a tax rate increase of 38 cents per hundred dollars of assessed valuation, bringing the total tax rate to $1.53. Taxes on a property assessed at $100,000 would increase $380. to $1,530. THE CITY FINISHED 1985 with a $636,000 surplus and will use $220,000 of it in the proposed 1986 budget and carry over the remainder Among other anticipated budget revenues are: • $851,232 in franchise and gross receipt taxes, a $93. increase. • $840,000 in receipts from delinquent taxes. • $275,000 from parking meters, a $18,000 increase. • $225,00 from municipal court costs, a $13,000 increase. • $204,000 from interest on investments, a $28,000 increase. Among anticipated budget appropriations are: • $4,685,000 for salaries and wages, a $564,000 increase. • $984,000 for insurance, a $339,000 increase. Stone Is AF Specialist Airman Eric J.
