Middle Township Police Chief Raymond Saunders was the guest speaker at the Thurston Elmer Wood American Legion Auxiliary Unit 198 meeting in Court House April 1. Saunders gave the group a speech on "Missing Children". He told the members how to prevent thtnPnchildren and grandchildren from being missing child statistics by escorting them into public restrooms. not leaving them alone in the car. telling them not to talk to strangers, and informing them of the appropriate and inappropriate actions of adults. SAUNDNERS ALSO spoke about the County: Wide Fingerprinting Program and about child runaways. He also told the group that some people hang around school yards, j etc. where children are I present and look for the child who is different from thfc others All children should be instructed not to accept gifts or candy from strangers. Saunders said. Due to an enactment of I recent legislation, parents I and guardians are enI couraged to report missing I children to the local police I immediately. at the respective schools on March 25. He informed the students that one fourth of the garbage in their homes can be recycled if they sort various items when they are thrown out.
