Opens April 23 COURT HOUSE - Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital's Et Cetera Thrift Shop will celebrate its reopening next Wednesday The public is welcome Festivities begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 am and light refreshments <«rtfrbe served throughout the day All visitors will be eligible for a drawing for $5. $10 and $15 gift certificates for the shop at the end of the day The shop is located at the northern end of Burdette's parking lot. Route 9 and Stone Harbor Boulevard. All proceeds from sales ^ benefit the hospital Et Cetera Shop's hours are 10:30 a.m. — 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Lennea Plant of Rio Grande was honored for her years of community service at a testimonial dinner attended by over 150 people at the Golden Eagle Inn, Cape May. April 6. She has been a volunteer at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital for the past 15 years, past president of the County Women's Republican Club, volunteer and former commissioner of the Erma Volunteer Fire Company, volunteer of the Rio Grande Volunteer Fire Company, honorary vicechairiady of the County Republican Executive Committee, and a current member of the County Board of Elections. Freeholder Director Bill Sturm was the master of ceremonies. Also in attendance were Assemblymen Guy Muziani and Joseph Chinnici. along with Freeholders Jerry Thornton and Ralph Evans. Helene Mace was the dinner's organizer. THERE WILL be 10 members of the Mid-Jersey Cape Rotary Club answering telephones during the 10th Annual Cape May County Unit of the American Cancer Society Telethon, to be broadcast on WMGM-TV 40 from Wildwood High School April 26. Approximately 175 people attended the Middle Township Republican Dinner held at Menz's Restaurant in Rio Grande April 9. Township Committee Candidate Richard James and his wife Kathy attended, along with Township Republican Leader Tom Bevis and wife Isabelle. .^Also in attendance were Congressional candidate Alfred J. "Bud" Bennington. County Republican „ Chairman Phil Matalucri. | Freeholders Jerry Thornton and Ralph Evans, County Surrogate Robert I llentges. Middle Township will be participating in "Hands Across America" May 25. It is an opportunity for everyone to stand together to fight hunger and homeless ness in America. He spoke on income taxes. Court House Kiwanian Allen Taylor was guest speaker recently at a Wildwood Kiwanis Club meeting in North Wildwood. He spoke on fundraising. ' We wish our friends John and Bern ice Phillips of Burleigh a belated "Happy Anniversary"! We also wish Frank and Jacque Ross of Court House belated anniversary greetings.
THIRD GRADE students in Susan Douglass', Christine Collett's. Ella Geiger's. Mildred Quay's, and Sharon Trego's classes at Elementary School 1 visited the Vo-Tech Dental Lab in individual groups during the weeks of March 24 and April 7. Charles McGinnis. teacher of dental assistants at the Vocational Technical/-'" Center, showedyjh^ children the proper way to brush their teeth. Each child used the toothbrush and toothpaste from individual kits provided them fro m ^a_ well-known toothpaste company. The children were also taught how to floss their teeth and were given dental floss to take home with them. A film was shown about dental health and a question and answer period followed. Wendy's Restaurant received approval from the Township Planning Board March 27 to begin construction of its proposed restaurant in front of the Village Shoppes on Route 47 in Rio Grande. Recital Slated ERMA — A piano and voice recital will be presented by students of Lisa M. Jurewicz 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the Richard Teitelman School. Route 9.
