SIC Marks Week for Libraries SEA ISLE CITY - The city public school was the site of a Balloon LaunchPuppet Show celebration for National Library Week rdSently. ^ Over 175 balloons were set free by the students and guests of the school. Mrs. Pat Hurley, school librarian, organizer of the program, reported — speakers for the occasion were Mayor Michael McHale of Sea Isle City, who also presented the students with Japanese Black Pine trees for planting in observance of Arbor Day. Thomas Leonard, director of the Cape May County Library, also spoke on the importance of libraries and what they offer. Mrs. Elizabeth Whittington. Ocean Academy Special Services Librarian, presented a puppet show entitled "Cooking with Pierre". Mrs. Whittington also demonstrated methods for making puppets out of scrap material. Garden Meet VILLAS - The Garden-by-the-Sea Club will meet Wednesday. Muziani Receives A Tourism Award
TRENTON - Assemblyman Guy F. Muziani, chairman of the Assembly Select Committeeman Tourism, has received the 1986 Governor's Tourism Service Award. Muziani, R-Cape May. Cumberland, received the award April 15 at the Governor's Tourism Conference in As bury Park. In his acceptance speech, Muziani said he is optimistic about the upcoming tourism season based on the large volume of information requests at the state Division of Travel and Tourism. MIJZIAN1 ALSO pledged the help of his committee in the tourism effort. The committee was formed this year by Assembly Speaker Chuck Hardwick, R-Union. "The importance of tourism in New Jersey can not be overstated." Muziani said. "Tourism is the state's second largest industry. It is expected to bring more than $12 billion into New Jersey in this year alone." Muziani has been involved in the promotion of New Jersey tourism for more than 20 years. He said the year's tourism activity will be anchored by the 100th birthday celebration of the Statue of Liberty in July. "WE CAN expect tourists from all over the world to be attending the celebratidn.Vhich naturally makes it a great opportunity to show people that New Jersey has a lot to offer." Muziani said. Muziani said Governor Kean "tops the list of those who have helped our state make remarkable strides in the tourism field. "While the governor has
been in office, we have witnessed a steady growth in tourism as more and more people have learned that New Jersey is an exciting place to visit," Muziani said. Muziani said he looks forward to progress this year on a program to address the long-term needs of New Jersey beaches — "one of the state's greatest tourism draws."
