Lochten to Head Hands'
BURLEIGH - Local resident Sandra Lochten has been chosen municipal coordinator for Middle Township for the "Hands Across Ameica" project , scheduled for Sunday. May 25. ''Hands Across America", a once in a lifetime event, calls for millions of Americans to join hands in a nationwide link-up on Memorial Day weekend to raise money to combat hunger and homelessness in America. SPONSORED BY the USA for Africa Foundation, the event is designed to • raise between *50 and $100 million for hunger relief. The coast-to-coast human chain will cover some 4.000 miles from New York City to Los Angeles. It will require about six million people to cover the entire distance. Those wishing to join the line and make a pledge can call the township Recreation Department at 465-2325 or the national toll-free number 1-800-USA-7000. THE LINE *ill travel through 16 stafestncluding New Jersey. Some 97,000 people will be needed to fill
the 73 miles of the route in New Jersey. Anyone wishing to parConstruction Site Robbed STONE HARBOR - In the evening hours of April 1. Anderson windows and doors were stolen from a construction site at 97th Street and Beach Avenue Two sliding gl^s doors and approximately 15 windows were stolen from a beachfront house under construction Everything taken was recently delivered and still in its original packing boxes Due to the amount of items taken, it is believed that more than one person is involved, along with a large truck or possibly a delivery-type vehicle Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 465-2800 All callers will remain anonymous. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Ocean City Blood Visit OCEAN CITY - The Ocean City Civic Club Council is sponsoring a Red Cross bloodmobile at the Ocean City Youth Center. 6th and Atlantic Avenue. 3-8 p.m. Monday. May 5. Sponsors hope to collect 100 points. Anyone between 18 and 65. who weighs at least 110 pounds and enjoys good health, you are probably eligible to donate. Call the Red Cross at 646-7000 to schedule an appointment. Walk-in donors are also welcomed.
