CAPE MAY - Trolley. Walking, and House Tours will be featured throughout the springtime Tulip Festival here starting this weekend. The nation's oldest seashore resort is famous for its Victorian gingerbread architecture. To help acquaint visitors with Cape May's many splendors. MidAtlantic Center for the Arts <MAC> is sponsoring: Tulip Garden Trolley Tours take visitors to see the tens of thousands of tulips that have been planted for the city's annual Tulip Festival. These tours depart from the Rotary Bandstand, Lafayette «tt Decatur Streets, and run every half hour on the following schedule: Saturday. April 26. and Sunday. April 27. 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. TROLLEY TOURS of the National Landmark District begin at Ocean Street, opposite the Washigton Street Mall. During the Tulip Festival
MAC is offering two distinct Trolley Tours: The Historic East End Tour — Highlights include the historic Physick Estate, two Victorian Hotels — the Chalfonte (oldest) and the Colonial (the newest), picturesque Columbia Afcenue, busy Ocean Street, and treelined Hughes Street, the oldest residential street in the city. • & The tour departs on the following schedule: Saturday. 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:45 p.m. and 3: 15 p.m. ; Sunday 10:30 a.m., noon, and 1:45 p.m.; Monday. 10:30 a.m. and noon. The Historic West^pnd Tour highlights stately Congress Hall, the graceful Huntington House, the famous Pink House, quaint Congress Place, unique Perry Street, and the align ed porches of Decatur Street.

Knowledgeable guides lead visitors on a comfortable stroll down many of the historic streets. Spiced with historical insights into the customs and traditions of the Victorians and their ornate, delightful architecture, these tours provide an intimate insight in to Cape May's intriguing past, present, and future. Tours begin at the InforI mation Booth at the head of the Washington Street Mall (at Ocean St.) on the following schedule: Saturday. 11 a.m.: Sunday, 11 a.m. TOURS OF the Emlen Physick Estate. 1046 Washington St.. feature the 16- room mansion designed *\ by renowned architect Frank Furness. Built in 1879 in the Stick Style, it is an authentically restored Victorian House Museum. Its interior contains outstanding examples of Eastlake-style furnishings and fixtures (many of which were original family pieces designed by (Furness, himself) as well as collections of costumes, toys, and artifacts. These tours run on the following \ schedule: / Saturday, every 45 I minutes 10:30 a.m. -3:00 p.m.; Sunday, every 45 minutes 10:30 a.m. -2:15 p.m.; Monday, every 45 minutes: 10:30 a.m. -12:45 p.m. COMBINATION Trolley/Physick Estate taur Tuesday. April 29. at ikon, will offer visitors an overview of Cape May's Victorian architecture. This tour begins at the Emlen Physick Estate with | an hour-long guided trolley tour that covers both the East End and West End Historic Districts. Upon returning to the estate, visitors ae guided through the lavish interior of the Physick House, and ending the tour, visitors are served hot cider and goodies in the Physick House kitchen. Tickets are on sale at the entrance to the Physick House. No reservations are necessary. MANSIONS BY Gaslight Tour 8 to 10 p.m. Friday opens four of Cape May's finest Victorian interiors for a self-guided tour. Included are the Emlen Physick House ( 1 048 ^ Washington St.). The Abbey (Columbia Ave. and Gurney St.). The Mainstay Inn (635 Columbia Ave.), and The Wilbraham Mansion ( 133 Myrtle Ave. ) . In order to help 4ourgoers get from one house to--, another. MAC'S trolley-bus v will run on a continuous transit loop. Tour-goers intending to take the trolley to all four houses should • start promptly at the Physick House. Tickets may be purchased only at the Physick House, starting at 7:30 p.m.
