And standing to one side Preserving Flowering Gift Bulbs If any tulips, hyacinths and other spring flowering blubs have been forced into bloom and presented to you as a gift, the following should be done to preserve the bulbs for future use: Leave the flowers in the pots and let the foliage ripen just as it would if growing in the garden, keeping this foliage green as long as possible. When the spring comes, these pots can be sunk out-of-doors until the foliage matures. When the leaves tijrn yellow and dry off. remove the bulbs and store for the summer. In the fall, these bulbs may be planted outdoors in the garden Bulbs that have been forced may require a y$ar or so to recover, so do not be discouraged if they do not bloom perfectly the following season or two.
