Student Music Festival

WILDWOOD - The Convention will be the site of the third annual Wildwood Music Festival on tomorrow. Friday and Saturday as 1.800 high school musicians join forces in a threeday extravaganza of music and pageantry. Sponsored by the National Judges Association and the Tournament of Bands, the event will feature students from high schools in Massachusetts. Connecticut. Pennsylvania. Virginia, North Carolina and New Jersey, who will be competing for

points in nine , different events. Tomorrow morning, competition from wind ensembles will be held, followed by competitive events)for majorettes, drill team^ colorguards. and percussion ensembles in the afternoon. The evening will feature the jazz band competition beginning at 6:30 and continuing until 10. FRIDAY'S events include competition for concert bands, beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until 6 p.m.. and a marching band

competition at Maxwell Field beginning at 2 p.m. The festival will conclude with a competitive parade on the Boardwalk, beginning at 2. All units will enter the Boardwalk at Garfield and march south to Convention Hall. After the parade, the bands will be ushered into Convention Hall for the gala awards ceremony, where each band will receive trophies for each event entered. Admission to all events is by ticket only. Tickets may be obtained at Convention Hall on each festival day Tickets are good for all festival events held that day.
