Whelan's 3-Hitter Leads Raiders over Oakcrest
Ocean City used the pitching and hitting of Kevin Whelan to down Oakcrest 3-0 in Cape Atlantic League baseball action last week. Whelan threw a threehitter and poked three signals for the 2-4-1 Raiders. Tom D'Intino ripped a single in the first inning.

pulled off two wins. Lower Cape May toppled Buena 6-4. evening it's record to 5-5. Caper Michelle Boyd tallied two hits apiece while Laurie, Reed went two-for-three for the Chiefs. Winning pitcher Janet McGraw boosted her record to 4-2 and lined two hits for the winner. Ocean City's Cindy Rau pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven to fuel the Raiders to a 10-0 romp over Oakcrest. Lisa Crompton, Lynn Argoe and Kellie Ross propelled the winner with two* raps each. Wildwood was whipped 11-3 by Sacred Heart in other action. THE COUNTY foot and field competition was rather prosperous last week as Middle Township came up with a victoryover Wildwood. Panther John Francis was tops in three events while Dion Coley and Steve Jones won one each. Francis led the 89-42 final by winning the 100. 200 and 4O0 meter races. Coley took first in the high jump and long jump and Jones recorded wins in the shotput and discus.
