24 Band Concerts Slated
CAPE MAY - Band Concerts Coordinator Arthur Doran announces that 24 band concerts will be played in the city during the summer season, beginning Sunday, June 15, and ending Saturday, Sept. 27. This will eclipse a 1901
news clipping stating that Hyde's Marine Band, from Philadelphia, had been booked to play concerts from July 4 until Labor Day. OF SPECIAL interest to lovers of band music, four gala concerts will be
presented, as follows: Friday, June 27, 8 p.m. — U.S. Army Field Band Ambassadors of Jazz. In the Bandstand. If raining. Convention Hall. Saturday, July 19, 8 p.m — The First State Symphonic Band will be playing in Gardner Hall, at the Christian Admiral Hotel. Tickets are reauired. Art League Events Set
CAPE MAY - The Cape May County Art League is sponsoring a slide lecture. "Zooming in on Italy's Art." tomorrow. May 8 at 8 p.m. in the Carriage House Gallery on Washington Street. The lecture will be presented by Ruthy Rutherford and will focus on art influences from Venice, Florence and Rome. May 8 to 11 the Art League will offer a fiveweek course in "Creative
Movement" from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday. May 10 at 2 p.m. the League will host a reception to kick of its May exhibition by Art League board members, staff and area art leathers. All mediums will be on display. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend.
