Chocolate Festival Is May 18 WILDWOOD - The city will hold its first Chocolate Festival noon-6 p.m., Sunday, May 18 on Pacific Avenue. This outdoor chocolate celebration is free to the public and offers delights for chocolate lovers. There will be candy businesses selling their finest chocolates, along with demonstrating fudgemaking. candy dipping and other procedures. A display and sales of exotic chocolate will be featured. Bakeries will also showcase their chocolate confections. Chefs from The Academy of Culinary Arts at Altantic Community College will present a lecture on chocolate <and discuss its many uses for the home candy-maker and baker. THERE WILL be a display of cocoa painting. This is an art form in which a chef paints a picture on a sugar or almond paste background, using the "paint" medium of cocoa butter and cocoa powder. Finished pictures include classic artists such as Beethoven and Christmas and nature scenes. All pictures are completely edible. This family festival also features an antique car display and live musical entertainment including Dixieland bands, banjo performers and magicians. Candy businesses and bakeries can still sign up to participate in the chocolate festival by calling the Wildwood Department of Tourism at 522-1407.
