Crest Honors 15 Police Officers

WILD WOOD CREST - Fifteen members of the local police department were recently honored for actions during 1985. Commissioner of Public Safety George Denham has presented each of the men with a certificate outlining their actions as well is the appropriate medal to be worn on their uniform. Receiving lifesaving awards were: Chief Robert J. Frederick Jr., Capt. EPA Given A Setback? Also presented with a --^lifesaving award was Mayor Frank McCall. At the awards promotion of Thomas Stocker to the rank of sergeant was also announced. Slqcker has been with the department since 1977 and has served in the detective bureau as well as the patrol division. Stocker lives with his wife. Patty, and two children. Thomas Jr.. 7. and Tracy. 2. Trip Replaces Club Meeting AVALON - The May meeting of, "the Women's Civic Club has been cancelled due to the Memorial Day holiday. Members are urged to join the borough's Memorial Day ceremony and parade 8:30 a.m. May 26 at Borough Hall. The May meeting is being replaced by a bus trip to Wheaton Village May 28 For reservations, phone 368-1453.

W. Wildwood Has ' Tag Your Tot' Plan

WEST WILDWOOD - A "Tag Your Tot" campaign/ designed to deal with the problem of lost or missing children, is being offered by the borough police department to residents and vacationers. The service is free of charge and is available at the West Wildwood Police Department. 701 W. Glenwood Ave. Parents are asked to bring their children to the station, where there will be a choice of two types of identification tags which can be placed on the shoelace or eyelet of the child's shoes or sneakers. THE TAG IS safe and undetectable from any distance, but will immediately identify the child at any

Cape May County law enforcement officer. As an added service, children of vacationers maybe registered with the police during their stay in the borough. At parents' request, police will fingerprint children and keep the prints on record. Photographs, if furnished, will also be placed in the files. Police will also take the child's picture at a charge of $1.50 to pay for the film. At the end of their stay, vacation visitors can request return of the information, and the entire package will be turned over to be kept for the future.
